Today, was the death of my childhood, an amazing talent, and a polarizing man. As I watched CNN, and Michael Jackson’s death was confirmed, I thought about legacy and influence, and doing the impossible, and looked on my own career, and the effect I am about to have on the entertainment industry. Great people have the courage to be different, and there is no one who has more courage to do the impossible than me, and I think MJ was a great example of doing that for all of us who grew up during the 80′s and 90′s and I will be that example for a new generation. Like Danny Bonaduce said, to me, “You are all balls”, and many people believe that there has never been anyone like me. I still listen to MJ’s music at the gym, and the fact that I feel that we have so much in common, made me feel warmer and connected on such a sad day for “The Biz”, and wish him peace and fortune in his next life.
MJ was a flawed person (As are most of us), and it’s a shame because his legacy will be slightly tarnished with some of the shit he did or was accused of doing outside of music, and it just makes me realize how careful I have to be as I build my name, and take “The Kade Brand” to the highest levels. I will be an example with what I do as an actor and entertainer, but I also want to be one with being a humanitarian and world wide figure of intensity and inspiration. The progress that I have made so far, and the way that I have shown the world how to stand up for what you believe in should hopefully allow people to one day put me in a category with the Michael Jackson’s of the world and “The Journey” remembered like pioneers like Bill Russell, Jackie Robinson, Babe Ruth, Ted Williams, and JFK.
It’s a shame that it happened to such a young guy (Especially with a family and world tour coming up), but it’s also an example of how important it is to take care of your body, and treat it like a temple. That is why I work out everyday (Sometime 2x), eat right, drink minimally, and don’t use drugs, because I want to be around until my 80′s or 90′s, and rock the world “Kade Style”, hopefully dying with a 10 on my lap on my yacht in St. Tropez. Life is so important, and to see the outpouring of love for a great artist today, inspires me to work even harder, and break down even more barriers to usher in a new age for the modern actor, one that you can be who you are, and say what you want, and tell the world you are an amazing talent and then prove it right in front of their eyes.
Here is my video with my acting coach of a scene from one of my favorite movies, “Swingers”. My acting coach was so blown away by my rendition of Rob, and called it “Lovely”, Believable”, and “Film-Worthy”. When I watched the video, I loved how natural and passionate I came off, because I was totally in the character, and I think that character would be great for me to play in a movie because I can connect to the energy and instincts of Rob. Great acting is about becoming the words and feelings, and for those brief minutes I forgot about Arthur Kade and became someone else.
