Running For The Gold: My Interview With Quadruple Gold Medalist And America’s Track Queen Sanya Richards-Ross
Sanya Richards-Ross is “America’s Queen Of Track”, and has become one the country’s great heroes with her courageous and inspiring wins at the 2012 London Olympics. Sanya captured the Individual Gold in the 400M run (One of track’s signature events) coming from behind with an explosion in the last 50M, and then ran an incredible anchor for the 400M team event helping them secure her second Gold of the games. After winning the 400M individual, she looked at the sky and raised her arms in triumph, posing for one of London’s most memorable images, and showing relief in finally winning her first individual Gold in the event, and becoming the first American Champion to win the 400m by overtaking the competition in the last 50 meters of the race. The London games also saw Sanya become tied as one of the most decorated female track and field Olympians of all time. Sanya has run more sub 50’s then any other female in history, and if all of her on track accomplishments are not enough, she also has a reality show with her husband and fellow Texas Longhorn, NFL Player Aaron Ross (I hated watching my NY Giants letting him go to Jacksonville!), coming out on WE TV, and various other enterprises which we discuss in detail in the interview. A true champion!
Here “The King Of Kamelot” sits down with an Olympic Champion, and one of America’s most decorated athletes, Sanya Richards-Ross, for a super fun and intimate chat about what it was like finally winning her first individual Gold, the feeling of watching the Star Spangled Banner played while she’s at the top of the podium, the “deets” on her new reality show coming out, how she keeps Aaron Ross (She calls him “Ross”) in shape, her various enterprises that she’s working on, and soo much more!! Outside of being a world class champion, it’s easy to see that Sanya is a world class individual, and it will be exciting to watch her bring home her next Gold from Rio!!
Here is Sanya on NBC’s Today Show and BET’s 106 and Park!! Unreal!!
