I have to admit that this was one of my favorite interviews that I’ve ever done!  Not just because Tom Scharpling is the executive producer and head writer of a little TV Show named “Monk” that helped win actor Tony Shalhoub an Emmy, Golden Globe, and Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Actor in a Comedy Series. The show itself, Tony, and several other characters were all also nominated for many more Golden Globes, Emmys, and SAG Awards, and “Monk” is strongly considered one of the greatest and most successful comedies in the history of Cable, as well as being one of the most watched series ever on Cable Television (The series currently holds the record for the most watched scripted drama episode in cable television history, when it set the record with “Mr. Monk and the End – Part II“, its series finale, with 9.4 million viewers).  It’s also not just because Tom Scharpling has one of the most followed cult radio shows in the country called “The Best Show” on WFMU in New Jersey, which has some of the biggest names in entertainment from Conan to Aziz Ansari (Who said in New York Magazine “People who like ‘The Best Show’ don’t just like it, they want to turn it into a woman and make love to it on a beach on some weird magical island.”) to Amy Poehler as fans, attracting such top talent as Zach Galifianakis, Paul F. Tompkins, John Hodgman, and Patton Oswalt, and creating one of the most unique radio experiences that have landed him and his co-host Jon Wurster awesome articles in publications like SPIN, GQ, and New York Magazine (Which he also wrote a hilarious “Celebrity Apprentice Recap” section for).  It’s mainly because I think he is a brilliant comedy mind and he has had the chance to see my transformation over the last couple of years (We would tweet back and forth some pretty hilarious stuff) from the evil character that I had created and lived when I was trying to get a reality show and jump start my career right after I sold my practice, into the current path that God has helped me forge now getting to interview the interesting people that I do and I wanted him to actually see that I’m not such a bad guy after all…

Here “The King Of Kamelot” sits down with one of the most brilliant comedic minds in the entertainment business (He has a show in development with Comedy Central with The Gregory Brothers of “Antoine Dodson Bed Intruder Song” Fame, which they just shot the Pilot for, which sounds hilarious, and he discusses it in the interview below) for an absolutely hilarious and memorable interview to talk about finally meeting face to face, the really cool new projects he has going, how he found out about what I used to call “The Journey” when I was in character, “The Best Show”, how I hit him up for connection after connection to further my career, and most importantly “The HUG”.  On a personal note, it was actually great finally meeting Tom, and he was a super nice and cool dude, with one of the sharpest sense of humors you will ever encounter (I told Matt The Producer “He was so quick with his jokes that I felt like I was running a track race”), and way taller then I expected.  Enjoy Kade Nation!
