He is one of the most recognizable faces and unique talents to ever come out of TV’s most storied musical franchise, American Idol, which had him competing in front of 28 million fans around the country each and every week vying to become the winner and new recording star built by “The Machine” culminating in a close loss to fellow multi-platinum recording star, Jordin Sparks.  Blake Lewis not on only defined himself on the show as a fan favorite and tremendous singer, but it was also his unique style using various rhythms and his masterful beat-boxing and scat-singing techniques that led Simon Cowell to call him at that time “Perhaps the most unique person we have ever had get this far” and Randy Jackson referring to his performance of Bon Jovi’s “You Give Love A Bad Name” as “the most original performance ever on the show”.  After an amazing run on the show, Lewis recorded his major label debut album A.D.D. (Audio Day Dream) which was released on December 4, 2007 through 19 Recordings/Arista Records on October 30, 2007,  and his first single “Break Anotha” was released which helped the album land on #10 on the Billboard 200 solidifying Blake as a mainstream singing sensation and force to be reckoned with in the music industry.

Since the finale of Idol, Blake Lewis has made several appearances on television shows. He performed Maroon 5‘s “She Will Be Loved” on The Morning Show with Mike and Juliet (combined with a snippet of U2‘s “With or Without You“), The Today Show, Live with Regis and Kelly and The Early Show. In the episode of The View on June 14, 2007, he sang “Somewhere Only We Know” by Keane and he had also appeared on Total Request Live, The Morning Show with Mike and Juliet with the winner of Idol, Jordin Sparks and Larry King Live with contestants who made into the top ten of American Idol.  He even had the opportunity on July 4, 2007, to perform “God Bless America” and “America the Beautiful” on Macy’s Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular with Sparks and Melinda Doolittle, and even elevated himself to sex symbol status when he was named #5 in the list of the 10 sexiest Idol contestants ever on the website during the running of the sixth season of American Idol and was ranked #21 in the list of music’s 21 sexiest single men on June 11, 2007 on AOL.com. Later in the issue of People magazine in 2007, the brand-new runner-up of Idol appeared on its list of “Hottest Bachelors of 2007” He has also made a cut on the list of 50 hottest guys on Elle Girl.  I mean he even got to sing for the First Lady herself in 2009, Michelle Obama, when he performed at the 2009 Congressional Clubs’ First Lady’s Luncheon to Honor her!!  This kids had a pretty amazing last couple of years I have to say!!!

Here “The King Of Kamelot” catches up with the American Idol legend, and Tommy Boy recording artist (I love Tommy Boy because they are one of the top labels in producing hot dance/electronica music in the world), to see how he is following up on all of his early success and mainstream attention, and we discuss his new hit single “Till We See The Sun” (Such a Hot Dance Track that I’ve already purchased it for myself) which is killing it, what he’s working on now, the experience on TV’s most watched show that ultimately changed his life giving him fame around the world, the various charitable appearances and causes that he’s working on right now (We talk extensively about this during the interview and makes you respect Blake even more as a human being using his success and fame to help others the way that he is), and sooo more!!  He even beat boxes for me with his dog in the video!! I really loved interviewing this guy because he is so genuine and humble, and honest about the unique set of experiences of everything he has gone through!!  Enjoy Kade Nation!!

This interview was recorded at the most legendary recording studio in Philadelphia, and one of the most famous in the world, Sigma Sound Studios. It has been around since 1968 and has transitioned from recording studio to full blown multi media entertainment company making them a “one stop” shop for artists of all genres.   Sigma is an award-winning brand, recognized for countless hit records and has hosted leading recording artists from yesterday and today such as Boyz 2 Men, Jill Scott, David Bowie, The O’Jay’s, The Jackson’s , Lil Wayne, Will I Am, and Madonna and has earned a reputation for its rich music heritage, outstanding service and sonic excellence. As featured in the book “Temples of Sound”, Sigma is known as one of the greatest recording studios that helped shape the music industry and single handedly put Philly on the music map making it famous for what has become known in music history as “The Sound Of Philadelphia”.  They have amassed over 190 gold and platinum records (I mean are you kidding me with that number!!) for its work with recording artists in many genres of music, including R&B, Rock, Dance, Pop, Blues, etc. As a testament to this fact, every 11 minutes somewhere in the world a song recorded at Sigma Sound Studios is being played.  When you walk in, you seriously smell all the history with all the gold and platinum records hanging on the wall.  Their awesome production crew helped me put this together to help give Kade Nation a real life “Unique” interview experience with Blake Lewis over Skype.
