Over the last decade, Shawne Merriman was arguably the most feared linebacker in the NFL.  Few players have come in with the physical and statistical fury ever that Mr. “Lights Out” did, and for 7 seasons built a reputation as one the league’s hardest hitters.  The nickname “Lights Out” came from Shawne knocking 4 players unconscious in one half of a high school game, and that intensity and success continued on with Shawne to make him the NFL’s Defensive Rookie Of The Year, and a three-time Pro Bowl and All-Pro selection.

Here “The King Of Kamelot” chats #InTheLab via Spreecast with NFL legend Shawne “Lights Out” Merriman to talk about his exciting new clothing brand properly called “Lights Out”, getting his MBA and life after football, reflections on his career and impact on the NFL, his thoughts on player safety in the league, what we should look for in the NFL Draft, and so much more!  Shawne was one of my favorite players when he terrorized the league, but it’s great to see the continued success in life after football.

Here is Shawne on HuffPost Live with Marc Lamont Hill right before chatting with me:
