When you’re nominated with Lady GaGa, Drake, Kid Cudi, and Asher Roth for “Best New Artist” at the MTV VMA’s, then you know you’re going to do OK…When you’re second studio/first mainstream album peaks at Number 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 (Their song “Don’t Trust Me” which is one of my faves and was that years “Pumped Up Kicks” hit number 1 on most charts) and follow up album does just as well, then it’s looking better that you’re doing to do better than OK…When you have had 4 songs since 2008 that have reached Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100, and been certified as Multi-Platinum, then you’re doing really well….When you have had over 100 million views on your music videos, and 5 million fans on Facebook, then life is pretty good…And when you have worked with Katy Perry, Lil’ Jon, and Ke$ha (3 songs) to produce household hit songs like “Starstrukk”, “My First Kiss”, and “Blah Blah Blah”, followed by being the headlining The Warped Tour and Alternative Press Tour, then you are absolutely killing it!!…3OH!3 is one of the hottest artists in the country, doing it in just 3 years, selling out shows every where they go, going Multi-Platinum, being on the cover of mainstream magazines, and currently headlining The Warped Tour, and have created one of the funkiest and most innovative sounds out there, while also crossing that boundary from just music artists to mainstream celebrities having their songs performed on TV Shows, WWE Specials, Disney Movies, appearing on MTV and other TV Programs all the time (They won an MTV Woodie!), and so0 much more..
Here “The King Of Kamelot” jumps backstage with Nat Motte from 3OH!3 during their show in front of 10,000 people at The Warped Tour (I was super disappointed because 3OH!3 cancelled all press for the day because FUSE TV was filming a “Day In The Life” segment on them, but Nat has been a long time fan of my blog and part of Kade Nation as you will see in the interview below, so he agreed to take a few minutes to exclusively do an interview once he got off stage with me right after catching up with his buddy, fellow celebrity/artist, Travie McCoy and I was the only one of the whole day!!) to talk about what it’s like being the #1 draw amongst so many HUGE bands at The Warped Tour (It was 100 degrees outside, and not one kid left the show..It was an insane sight to see when they were being sprayed with hoses), working with Ke$ha, and Lil’ Jon, talking about being a fan of “The Journey”, coming off tour for the first time in 18 months, and so much more!! Nat’s a great and funny guy, and this interview is pretty hilarious (Especially because I’m 6’2″ and he towers over me)!!
