Mýa has been one of the most commercially successful, internationally known, and groundbreaking singer/songwriters in music since she burst like a comet onto the  Billboard charts scene as a beautiful teenager 13 years ago (Billboard ranked her as one of the 100 top artists of the 2000’s), having achieved pretty much every important accolade and award that any artist can achieve, while selling millions of albums, and working with some of the biggest names in the business including Christina Aguilera, Pink, Wyclef, Sisqo, Ol’ Dirty Bastard, Jay-Z, Jadakiss, Lil’ Kim, Missy Elliot, Cedric Gervais, and soooo many more (The list is endless..really!!)!  One of my favorite videos and songs ever was when Mýa collaborated with Christina Aguilera, Lil’ Kim, P!nk and Missy Elliot on a remake of Patti LaBelle’s “Lady Marmalade”, which is featured in Baz Luhrman’s Moulin Rouge. The single sold 5.5 million copies and became the most successful airplay-only single in history. Mýa and company’s version of “Lady Marmalade” won the Grammy Award for Best Pop Collaboration and went on to collect numerous awards including 2 MTV Video Music Awards for Video of the Year and Best Video from a Film.  And one of my favorite songs of all time is the Grammy nominated, “Ghetto Supastar (That Is What You Are)”, from the Bulworth soundtrack where Mýa was also a featured artist with Ol’ Dirty Bastard on Pras’ 1998 Grammy nominated hit which dominated the airwaves and who can forget one of the hottest and sexiest songs ever in “My Body Is Like..Wo!!” with that ridiculous video which was nominated at the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards for Best Dance Video and Best Choreography. And now she has come out with a new album that really lets you in to her world (Or as she says it “Miss Mýa’s World”) called K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple And Sexy) that is amazing and that was released in Japan first and hit #1 on their charts already (I linked her site here so make sure to check out and buy the album)!

If you think that isn’t enough, she has sure kept herself busy over these years, participating in the 9th season of ABC’s #1 show “Dancing With The Stars”, and almost winning it (She was the runner-up but achieved the highest scores of the competition), working as an actress in a bunch of movies including winning a SAG award for her role in the blockbuster Academy Award winning musical “Chicago” alongside Hollywood Powerhouses Catherine Zeta-Jones, Richard Gere, Renee Zellweger, and Queen Latifah, and becoming a tremendous philanthropist reprising her role as National Spokesperson for The North Shore Animal League?s Tour For Life and being featured in the Wyclef Jean remake of We Are the World to benefit Haiti. also founded “TMATF”: The Mýa Arts & Tech Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing disadvantaged youth growth and opportunity through arts & technology education, where she serves as both executive director and teacher.  Mýa is also an advocate of breast cancer as her mother is a 13 year survivor. In 2006 & 2007 she collaborated with the Lifetime Television Network in the Stop Breast Cancer for Life campaign, recording “My Bra” a song sold on iTunes donating 100% of proceeds to breast cancer research. In 2007, Mýa was also the internationally featured artist in Heatherette’s Fashion Show for LifeBall in Vienna, Austria to fight Global AIDS, hosted a fundraiser for Skool’d to aid homeless LGBT youth, and advocated equality by opening the Out 100 Awards. In January 2011, Mya became Good Will Ambassador for Africare (africare.org) an organization of over 40 years assisting the welfare of over 36 African countries.

Here “The King Of Kamelot” gets to rap with one of his favorite artists of the last decade (I admit to her that I have had the biggest crush on her forever!), a girl who has lived a lifetime of achievements in just 13 years, to talk with her about what to expect on her new album K.I.S.S., what it was like almost winning “Dancing With The Stars”, growing up from teenage music phenom into the woman she is today in the public eye, who was the most brilliant artist she has ever worked with, her INCREDIBLE charitable causes including running the ING NYC Marathon (Is there anything this girl doesn’t do?!?!), meeting the incomparable Gregory Hines, why an amazing girl like her isn’t married yet, and soooo much more!!  I have to tell Kade Nation that she is absolutely gorgeous in real life (Eyes that will knock you out and a million dollar smile and aura!), and one of the most down to Earth, sweet, and humble people you will ever meet (I may have proposed 3 times!)!!  Amazing Amazing interview Kade Nation with a tremendously talented woman!
