He has been one of my favorite artists for the last decade with hits like “Like A Pimp”, “Stuntin’ Is A Habit”, “Get Like Me (featuring Chris Brown, Yung Joc, and “Shawty Say“)”,  and “Play”, as well as a Grammy Winning Producer for some of the biggest names in Hip Hop and R&B like Lil’ Wayne, Kanye West, Diddy, T.I., Nelly, Maroon 5, Snoop Dogg, Quincy Jones, Jamie Foxx, and Chris Brown, so to be able to interview David Banner was just amazing! Snoop Dogg has called David Banner (Yep…He took the name of The Incredible Hulk’s alter ego as his rap/artist name)  “The most under appreciated star in rap” and considering Banner has a slew of Billboard top 10 hits himself, a ton of awards and nominations (Grammy, BET, Ozone, etc..), and has helped produced or been featured on hit songs with artists like Lil’ Wayne, Snoop Dogg, Akon, Estelle, Chris Brown, Lil’Flip, 9th Wonder, and soo many more, there is no slowing down for the man who is nicknamed “Mr. Mississippi”.  If music wasn’t enough, the multi-talented Banner also has appeared in a bunch of movies as an actor, and even scored and produced songs for recent hit movies like Footloose and even products like Gatorade.  He is easily one of the most talented and respected names in the hip hop biz, and has the big and likable smile and personality to match, so with the new singles “Swag” and “Yao Ming” out, several new songs just completed with Lil’ Wayne and Chris Brown, as well as a new album in the works, looks like 2012 is shaping up to be a “Banner” year for the superstar from the South!

Here “The King Of Kamelot” catches up with “Mr Mississippi” while hanging out with Bart Scott, Eric LeGrand (Voted Sports Illustrated Moment of 2011 for his return to Rutgers after being paralyzed landing him on the year end cover), and The New York Jets (Check out my interviews with them here!!) at Scott’s “Can’t Wait” charity event (HUGE Thank you to super PR Carmena Ayo-Davies again!!) to talk about his awesome career, his latest work with Weezie and Chris Brown, who his favorite artist to work with has been (This answer actually surprised me), the moment in his career that was when he knew he made it (This lets you know how cool a guy he is), and soooo much more!!  In such a corrupt business filled with some pretty nasty personalities, David Banner is one of the nicest, most genuine guys you will ever meet, and it’s easy to see why he has had so much success over the last decade as an artist and producer with waayyy more to come..Enjoy Kade Nation!!
