Long time Kade Nation friend Takeru Kobayashi is the world’s best and most famous eater, having become an International celebrity with his record setting eating abilities, as well as unique protests and showmanship, and now he is trying to set the bar even higher by creating a rival competition to the world famous Nathans contest that he so thoroughly dominated for years called the Crif Dog Classic which took place at Roberta’s in Brooklyn yesterday.  Filled with celebrity appearances yesterday, and Kobayashi eating 68.5 hot dogs compared to his arch rival Joey Chestnut’s 68 yesterday, “Kobi” is still the standard bearer for world eaters, and now is positioning himself to create a new 4th of July tradition for the mainstream.  Kobayashi holds the Guinness Book of World Record records for eating hot dogs, pizza, Twinkies, spaghetti , hamburgers and meatballs. He is also a world record holder for eating Buffalo wings, turkey, grilled cheese, lobster rolls and cow brains, among other foods.

“In a city full of Hot Dogs, Crif Dogs has distinguished itself as the local’s favorite. Crif Dogs has won numerous awards for Best Hot Dog, from among others: NBC TV, New York Magazine, Anthony Bourdain and Time Out. In addition, Crif Dogs has inspired some of New York’s best chefs including David Chang, Daniel Humm, and Wylie Dufresne to create signature dogs, taking the humble sausage to new heights. The legendary bacon wrapped Crif dog is a must have on any culinary adventure of New York City. Crif Dogs is a New York institution.

Roberta’s, in Bushwick, Brooklyn, began as a pizzeria in 2008. It has since grown into an internationally-recognized food destination, launch pad for numerous urban agriculture projects, home of heritage radio network, and all around bad ass community center.”

Here “The King Of Kamelot” sits down with the world’s most famous eater to talk about his new project, how he is prepring for the Crif Dog Classic, and all things Hot Dog!  Enjoy Kade Nation!!
