Enter the new New Wave of British Heavy Metal: Enter Shikari. Hailing from England, Enter Shikari exploded onto the post-hardcore scene with a fresh mix of metal, industrial, and hardcore. Combining many elements, the guys from Enter Shikari join a small group of today’s hard rock groups that are pushing boundaries and re-defining the word “genre.” The band debuted in 2007 with their first full-length LP Take To The Skies. Before that, however, the band had already conjured up a huge following, and just before the album’s release, they sold out The Astoria Theatre in London. The album proved to be an impressive debut, selling 28,000 copies in its first week of sales, reaching #4 on the UK Album Chart, and eventually being certified Gold. Since then, Enter Shikari have twice been apart of the Vans Warped Tour, and have also toured with the likes of The ProdigyThe Devil Wears PradaWhitechapelAugust Burns RedSilversteinEscape The Fate, and more. The band’s latest effort, A Flash Flood of Colour, came out back in January on Hopeless Records. The album hit #3 on the UK Album Chart, and #67 on the Billboard Top 200. This time around, they band is pushing the envelope of experimentation even further. Incorporated in this record various styles of metal, hardcore, industrial, punk, and a dash of dubstep. It’s most certainly a flash flood of musical styles. The band is currently on their first U.S. headlining tour, with plenty of festival stops planned for this summer. In addition, the guys are also just released a remix EP, Arguing With Thermometers. There’s lots of great new tunes from Enter Shikari to shake up your eardrums, and be sure to catch their awesome live show on tour all spring and summer long. CRANK IT UP!
