When you’re the wife of one of Rock’s greatest icons, what do you do? Well, you become one of the fastest rising names in Rock yourself of course!! That’s the story of Pegi Young, wife of the legendary Neil Young, who in 2007 as a late bloomer, decided to venture out on her own as an artist with a self-titled debut album, and now she has just released her third album “Bracing For Impact” which has gotten critical acclaim from Rolling Stone, Billboard, USA Today, and pretty much every other major music outlet, as well as garnered her and her incredible band “The Survivors” (Made up of several of Neil’s famed playing mates) appearances all over the media including an awesome performance on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon right before I interviewed her in NYC. Pegi initially came to the public’s attention through her longstanding role as Neil Young’s back-up singer (She has been married to him for 34 years now!!) and was taped by Oscar Winning director Jonathan Demme for “Love Like Water” while performing with Neil at the Tower Theatre in Philadelphia, and there has been no looking back from there. She has created her own name in music, and with each album continues to create her own Rock Legacy..It is such a great story, and considering the Pegi is such an incredible singer/songwriter herself, and one of the coolest woman you can ever spend time with, it’s great to see the success she’s having going solo!
Here “The King Of Kamelot” sits down with the ultra awesome Pegi Young before her sold out show in NYC (Her whole tour is sold out!!) to talk about her new album “Bracing For Impact”, what it’s like being the wife of three decades of one of Rock’s greatest names, the Bridge School which her and Neil created to help disabled children, having two children that suffer from cerebral palsy, what part of the house they discuss their hit songs in, and sooo much more!! Pegi is an incredible musician/artist and person (What she and Neil have done with The Bridge School is remarkable!!), and this is a perfect example of no matter who you are, it’s never too late to go after your dream!! Enjoy Kade Nation!!
